ConsultAbility, a new disability-inclusion consulting firm co-founded by Jenna Bainbridge and her husband, Paul, has officially launched. ConsultAbility aims to work with theatre companies and universities to assess their current access barriers for disabled artists, audiences, and staff by walking through their spaces and giving the theatre both short-term, inexpensive solutions, as well as long-term proposals for renovations. They also lead presentations and trainings on the importance of disability inclusion in theatre and the history of systemic ableism that currently exists in the theatre industrial complex. Their goal is to create a network of theatre companies and training programs where disabled artists can focus on their art without having to self advocate.
